Children's Court Assistance Scheme

The Children's Court Assistance Scheme (CCAS) is a service provided by the Central Coast Legal Centre. It is staffed by a paid Coordinator and a pool of trained volunteer Youth Workers, who provide a free, confidential and professional service.

CCAS operates every Monday and Friday at Woy Woy court, and Tuesdays at Wyong court.

The scheme provides support, information, advocacy, and referral to young people and their families throughout the court process.

The services and assistance we provide are:

• Support, and court information to young people and their families
• Answer questions and explain the court process
• Help fill out Legal Aid application forms
• Ensure that you speak to a Solicitor and have legal representation
• Provide a referral base to community support services
• Accompany young people and their families into solicitor interviews, and into the court
